OSGEMEOS (Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo)

born 1974 in São Paulo, Brazil

“THETWINS” have worked together since birth. As children growing up in the streets of the traditional district of Cambuci (SP), they developed a distinct way of playing and communicating through artistic language. With the encouragement of their family, and the introduction of hip hop culture in Brazil in the 1980s, OSGEMEOS found a direct connection to their dynamic and magical world and a way to communicate with the public. Guided mainly by their willpower, they explored with dedication and care the various techniques of painting, drawing and sculpture, and had the streets as their place of study.

They believe that the encounters and experiences that life offers are natural and delicate. To understand the work of OSGEMEOS, it is necessary to allow reason to be replaced by the imaginary – allowing ourselves to realize the subtleties around us and to embark on an experience that exceeds the visual: to feel first and to understand later.

Which project will you have finished before you come to Munich?

Where are you heading to after SCALE?

Before Munich we will have done a mural in Stockolm and after we will head to NY to do two murals.

What is (are) your current main topic(s) in your work at the moment? Do you have an actual "artistic concern" or theme?

For each project we work with a specific theme, that we decide in a very spontaneous way. In SCALE we will work with Aryz but we don't know the theme yet.

One may not find many projects like SCALE that give so many artistst from all over the globe the possibility to paint simultaneously together in one place and in one week. What are you looking forward to regarding this project?

For us the most important thing is to meet our friends, the first friends we made when we traveled abroad, to Germany, it's "family". It's the first people who have invited us to travel and cross the ocean to another continent. The most important thing is to see them again.
